What Is Tenkara?

Tenkara is a Japanese style of fly fishing that uses a long rod, a line, and a fly—without a reel. Born in the mountain streams of Japan, it’s especially well suited to the waters here in Appalachia. With less gear to manage, you can focus on the water, your fly, and the fish.

—I offer personalized trips for beginners and experienced anglers alike.
